Self-proclaimed “coffee purists” may be annoying, but they certainly can taste a quality product from a mile away. If you have someone in your life that you consider an expert on all-things coffee, they will already know the value of single-origin coffee. Single origin coffees are made from Grade 1 beans imported from a specific country or region. This differs from many of the different coffee brands that you’ll find at a supermarket or big-chain coffee shop, which tend to use a blend of different beans from across the world.
And while nothing is wrong with a nice blended coffee, our team appreciates building on unique, subtle flavors and aromas from different regions. For instance, a bag of dark roasted coffee imported from Sumatra may contain a more dark, wooden, chocolatey flavor. That differs from the sweet, citrus undertones of a light roast from Ethiopia.
