Cut the caffeine and keep enjoying the great taste of Cooper’s Cask Coffee with our single origin Ethiopian decaf! This Swiss Water Processed (SWP) medium roast offers both a vibrant aroma and a colorful taste profile—featuring notes of chocolate orange, sweet lemon, black tea.

Why Single Origin Decaf Coffee?

For many, caffeine is the primary reason they reach for a cup of coffee, and there’s nothing wrong with that! Everybody has to do what they can to get through the day. But sometimes, people prefer to just sit and enjoy the taste of coffee without the jitters and side effects that come with caffeine. Many others are trying to cut down on their caffeine intake or stop it altogether, for a wide range of reasons.

The team at Cooper’s Cask Coffee believes that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy a great tasting cup of coffee—and that not wanting caffeine shouldn’t prevent you doing so. That’s why we offer great tasting single origin decaf coffee using organic grade 1 beans imported from Ethiopia

Similar to our standard single origin Ethiopian coffee, we use only the finest beans imported from a specific region of Ethiopia. The difference, however, is the added step of Mountain or Swiss Water Processing to remove 99.9% of the caffeine from the coffee beans before roasting.

The two processes are very similar, and both offer the benefit of using a chemical-free approach to caffeine removal! The main difference is in their location. Mountain Water Processing takes place in Mexico using water from the Pico de Orizaba Mountain—while Swiss Water Processing occurs in Vancouver, British Columbia, using water from Canadian coastal mountains.

Both processes use hot or steaming water to expand the coffee’s pores and make the caffeine extraction process easier. Those coffee beans then soak in water and a blend of coffee solids to remove the caffeine while keeping the flavor intact—before finally soaking them and filtering out the remaining caffeine using a carbon filter.

This means that even after removing the caffeine, all of the other aspects that make single origin Ethiopian coffee distinct remain. That means you’ll notice all the unique notes that come from the dry process—including an exciting aroma and a colorful taste profile of chocolate orange, sweet lemon, and black tea.

We then use our signature, fresh to order small batch roasting process to ensure maximum flavor, taste, and enjoyment without the caffeine-induced side effects.
